Meet the Founder/CEO
-Amanda Pagan
Amanda Pagan is a faith-driven leader, author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, as well as the Founder and CEO of Step Out the Box. Born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in the inner city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Amanda’s life has been shaped by both the challenges and strengths of urban community life.
Growing up in an environment often marked by hardship—including exposure to violence, addiction, and poverty—Amanda also witnessed resilience, unity, and the power of community. Raised by a devoted single mother alongside the support of her grandmother and uncles, she developed a deep understanding of perseverance, faith, and family.
A graduate of John Harris High School, Amanda has remained rooted in the very community that raised her. Today, she uses her lived experiences to connect authentically with those she serves. As a woman of faith, she is passionate about leading by example—demonstrating that transformation, purpose, and growth are possible regardless of where you start.
Through Step Out the Box, Amanda is committed to uplifting and empowering individuals—especially youth—by fostering unity, encouraging personal growth, and guiding others to discover their God-given purpose. Her work centers on building stronger communities through love, faith, and action.
Amanda is also a devoted wife and mother of seven, and she carries her role as a leader both in her home and in her community with intention and grace. Her mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire change, cultivate unity, and lead others by example every single day.

Saleena Thompson is a proud Harrisburg native with a profound calling to serve. As the Vice President and Spiritual Advisor of Step Out the Box It Takes a Village, Saleena has dedicated her life to uplifting her hometown and pouring into the lives of others with intentionality, grace, and faith. With a heart for the people- Saleena’s work is fueled by a deep-seated love for God’s people. She believes that true leadership starts with a serving heart and she approaches every community initiative with the goal of providing genuine care. For Saleena, "It Takes a Village" isn't just a motto it is a blueprint for how we must show up for one another to create lasting change. Saleena is a soul believer in the restorative power of loving one another and our neighbors. She strives to be a vessel of peace and encouragement- whether she is offering spiritual guidance or organizing community outreach; her mission remains the same, to serve with a passion that honors God and heals the spirit.
